Closing Out the Season at Home

Western Washington University‘s club ice hockey team concludes its home schedule with a couple games against the University of Washington Huskies.

The Vikings are coming off a split 2-2 record against a couple California squads this past weekend. UC-Berkeley played twice at Bellingham Sportsplex, taking both Thursday and Sunday’s contests quite thoroughly, combining to outscore Western 22-8 (Th. 13-5, Sun. 9-3).

Sandwiched in between those, however, were a couple solid games against another California foe, taking down UC-San Diego on Friday, 7-5, and Saturday, 5-0. It was senior night on Saturday, and what better way to honor that group than an Edvin Sanders shutout performance.

The top line continues to shine, as sophomore forward Bret Brumbaugh had four goals along with 11 total assists, while senior forward Teddy Prior had seven goals and six assists on the weekend. Both skaters are top five point-getters in the PAC-8.

The Vikings play final home games of the season with the Huskies, then it’s off to the PAC-8 tournament in Cheney, Washington. More details on the event will be revealed in the coming week.

General Admission: $5. Admission for Students with ID: $2.
